Bozena Hillyer, Director Counter Fraud, Compliance and Debt, Department for Work and Pensions
Bozena Hillyer is Director of Counter Fraud, Compliance and Debt at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), a role she has held since August 2019. She leads more than 12,000 colleagues delivering national services covering National Insurance numbers, counter fraud and compliance, and debt recovery. Her remit also includes DWP’s Integrated Risk and Intelligence Service.
As DWP’s Head of the Counter Fraud Profession, Bozena is focused on using digital change to reduce fraud, error and debt. Before joining DWP, she spent nearly 15 years at HMRC, where she qualified as a Tax Inspector and led teams tackling serious fraud, illegal working and tax avoidance.
Earlier in her career, Bozena held marketing, business planning and customer care roles at British Telecom. She is based in the North West and is a passionate football supporter.
